Having experienced poverty firsthand, they understand the struggles faced by many, and their foundation serves as a beacon of hope for countless individuals worldwide.
Manny Pacquiao was elected to the Philippine Senate in 2016 and has persistently championed the cause of the impoverished and disadvantaged. Despite the broader reach of the Senate, constraints such as limited government funding and bureaucratic constraints have hindered his efforts. This led to the establishment of the foundation.
Manny’s love for boxing extends beyond the sport itself; it’s about the joy it brings to others. He’s channeled this passion into selfless acts of giving, having donated a staggering one-third of his career earnings to charitable causes.
“Even when I reached the top, I never forgot where I came from. I wondered about the millions of my fellow countrymen who didn’t have the chance I got and continued to languish in poverty,” says Manny.
On past and recent achievements, they’ve got a list longer than the queue behind a fishball cart at the plaza or inside a gymnasium on game day! Housing projects in Uganda and the Philippines, medical missions in various cities, relief aid for over 100,000 people—these guys are like the Santa Claus of charity, delivering hope and help wherever needed. Plus, who doesn’t love the mental image of a plane stuffed to the brim with toys, shoes, and medical supplies soaring through the skies?
The Manny Pacquiao Foundation is partnering with organizations like CAMELEON and FundLife to make a difference in the lives of young girls through the #GirlsGotThis project, aiming to secure $530,000 for their initiatives. This includes raising $330,000 for the rehabilitation of victims of sex trafficking and abuse and $200,000 for their education.
Additionally, they seek to restore the Negros Center Land Rehabilitation, assist 10,000 vulnerable young girls aged 5-16 with educational safe packs, and build a gymnasium for the empowerment of sexual abuse survivors. They are currently in the process of raising funds for that.
With powerful alliances like UFC President Dana White, Alibaba’s Jack Ma, and UFC Champion Dustin Poirier, the MPF has forged impactful partnerships that amplify its reach and influence. Together, they’ve orchestrated relief aid, medical missions, housing projects, and so much more, proving that teamwork makes the dream work.
