Futurist 2024: Treat Yourself at the Shib Spa!
The Shib booth, themed “Treat Yourself,” is certainly adding an exciting touch to the conference. Featuring a vibrant backdrop of a joyful Shiba Inu basking in a summer atmosphere, the booth’s centerpiece is a spa area where visitors can relax and recharge throughout the duration of the event.
Shib’s Next Chapter: Encore or Uncharted Territory?
The question on everyone’s mind now is this: will the next chapter be an encore of what we’ve witnessed so far or will it be a new playing field? Or both?
Shy’s presentation at the conference might just give us the answer. It featured a host of upgrades and product launches to look forward to, including self-sovereign on-chain identities, Shib’s social protocol, Shib Name Service, ShibaSwap, Shib Torch, Shib Marketplace, Sheboshis, Shiba Eternity and new mini games developed by Shib Games, The Shib Magazine and The Shib Daily, and Shib: The Metaverse.
Perhaps one of the most exciting announcements is the introduction of ShibHub, a dynamic super app designed to help users earn, learn, connect and, above all, participate in the creation of a digital network state. Highlighted in the presentation as the “heart” of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, this super app will provide all the essential resources for navigating the ecosystem, including its products, apps, and services. It will allow users to access Shib games, the marketplace, Shib’s own social network, DeFi solutions, and many more – all at the click of a button.
ShibaCon: A Fundamental Aspect from Ryoshi’s Blueprint
ShibaCon is an integral part of Ryoshi’s master plan. When Shytoshi announced this in July, the Shib Army was more than delighted to hear the exciting news. ShibaCon 2024 seeks to connect supporters, developers, and Shib Army members from around the world to celebrate Shib’s journey and strengthen community ties. Attendees can expect engaging discussions on Shiba Inu’s tech advancements, ecosystem growth, and future goals, which will provide important perspectives on what the future holds for the project.
This is going to be the first Shiba Inu conference – one that is set to transform how the community networks and takes on global stages. It will be held in Bangkok, Thailand.
$TREAT Yourself: The Token and the Tour
In early July, the Treat Yourself Tour, led by Shytoshi and Kaal, began. As emphasized in the presentation, TREAT will serve as the governance token with a unique utility. In his Treat Yourself Tour post on X, Shytoshi explained that TREAT will grant access to the advanced features of the ecosystem, unlike LEASH, which focuses on exclusivity, and BONE, which centers on technology. The community is being warned yet again to not fall victim to scammers and fraudsters trying to shill a fake TREAT token, which will have no utility in the ecosystem or any connection to the official Shiba Inu project.
Having had its first stop at IVS 2024 in Japan, the tour will advance through noteworthy events after Futurist 2024, ultimately wrapping up in the first ever ShibaCon.
Shib Marches On
Shytoshi recently said in a tweet that the future is bright worldwide, with a reference to the increasing adoption of crypto in political and economic spaces. During the presentation, he said there will be PhD-level whitepaper on the DAO voting and implementation, including Karma and Reputation, which is a system in the Shib meritocracy that facilitates point accumulation to promote Shib’s principles and values.
There is also much on the horizon in terms of partnerships – partnershibs to be precise – and collaborations, but a buzzer-beater announcement revealed the biggest yet for Shiba Inu this year. Shib is partnering with the International Indian Film Academy Awards (IIFA), which boasts 800 million viewers worldwide. It is a long-term partnershib that leverages the power of Shib’s technology and IIFA’s global audience.
With all of these plans, Shib is shaping up to be a decentralized experiment that’s in a class by itself. It seems the experiment will be a balancing act of Ryoshi’s principles and Shytoshi and Kaal’s genius – a decentralized future that makes use of its humble beginnings from meme culture to morph into a global movement.
